Courage to Grow...
Hi guys!
First of all, I want to apologise for not being able to post last wednesday as I usually do. Life can get a little out of hand sometimes and I needed to prioritise for the betterment of my mental health. Sincerest apologies again! Nevertheless, regardless of how unpredictable and uncomfortable my life can become, I still would like to share a few words and thoughts with you all. It'll be a short one this week as I am in the process of planning up something big for my future. Anyways, let's get on with today's topic hahaha
As can be read in the title, today I wanted to talk about the courage to grow. I find myself quite obsessed of the topic tbh. I remember learning in church the importance of trying to become more like God. So much so, that I got into the regular habit of asking myself, more or less, the following questions. What role has development and personal growth played in my life? In what ways was I better today than I was yesterday? Was there anything I could've done differently? What challenges and struggles did I face? And lastly, who in my life have I to thank because of the support they gave me?
Having courage doesn't mean doing things without fear. Courage is doing the hard things inspite of the fear that we feel. Although I have not been on Earth for nearly as long as others, I have come into many challenges and moments where courage was required of me. From what I've learned in my twenty four years, is that courage can take on many different forms. It can look like being able to stand up infront of a crowd and speaking your truth or setting your boundaries and informing that someone has crossed the line. Courage can also be gentle and soft, like asking someone in public if they're okay because they had too many things to carry, or forgiving someone who had hurt you really badly. Courage can take on many different shapes, colours, and forms.
As a daughter of the pacific, there are many opportunities where we are required to take courage and do what needs to be done. One thing I am proud to say is that for many of us, the source or heart of that courage is our families and loved ones. A very dear friend of mine shared a saying with me which says "mea uma e te faia, afiafi ma le alofa" - With everything you do, wrap it in love. If there is anything that I would like you all to take away from what I've learned in my life so far, it's to take courage in everything you do. No matter how intimidating life may be, or how doubtful you feel, wrap it in love and do what needs to be done. Smother it if you need to! Hahahaha but anyways, you get the gist. Gathering courage to take a risk can be scary, but what's more scary is living as if every page in your book of life has the same bleak lines as the ones before that. Paint those pages and fill your life with colour! When the time comes, you can look back and be pleased with the colourful and impactful life you've lived.
Yeah, sorry guys this is where I'll have to leave it for now, but I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week! Until next time.

An uplifting take on courage and love! As someone who tends to view courage as some sort of superpower, itâs insightful to hear how it changes depending on the person/circumstance. I hope to gain courage to be better than yesterday and it helps to know love will always find a way. Keen for more!
